Goodbye Forever

So I finished this one early. It was suppose to be posted on Valentine's Day, but I had some spare time so why not do it now.

Side Note: this is my first Jongrade fanfiction, so I didn't know what to do. I gathered some idea from tumblr. Fair warning, there will be angst. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day.

One day in Kazooland The Jon was in his office. He was working on the plans for Bisscut Town's annual ice cream parade. He was working day and night on getting everything ready. Sadly with all his work, he never got any time to spend with his girl, Upgrade. Since he was working so hard, The Jon practically lived in his office, almost never leaving unless it was really important. So the only time he got to see his girl was when she came into his office to give him more crystal Pepsi.

It was the eveningish, the parade was tomorrow. The Jon was finally done with all the preparations. "Finally" he said "Everything is done". He put all his folders from his desk to a file cabinet and went home. "Oh little birdie" he called when he walked through the door "I'm finally done with all my work". He went upstairs to find Upgrade fast asleep. The sight of her peaceful slumber brought a smile to his face. "She looks so cute when she is asleep" he thought "I wish I could do something special for her". Just than he got an idea, and quietly ran out the front door.

When Upgrade woke up she heard a knock on the door. "I wonder who that is" she said trying to look decent "I wasn't expecting anyone". She ran to open the door, but all she saw was a large box. She pulled off a note from the front of the box and saw the drawing of a button on it. "Push the button and say beep" said the note "and get a sweet surprise I know you'll love". She placed her finger on the button and said "beeeeeeeep" just like the note told her to. No sooner as she took her finger off the button, The Jon popped out from the top. Confetti and streamers went everywhere. "Surprise little birdie" he said "Congratulations your the winner". "Oh Jon" she said, almost about to cry "your so sweet". She leaned in and sweetly kissed his lips. "By the way" she said when it stopped "what did I win?". The Jon almost didn't remember her prize, the kiss was made him almost forget. "Right your prize" he said "I'll show you". He stepped out of the box and took her hand "Come with me" he said "your prize is over there".

A few minutes later they arrived at Upgrade's prize. It was a romantic dinner for two under the shade of a tree. "Oh Jon" she gasped "it's beautiful". "But that's not all" he said happily. He pulled out a small soft blanket. "Also" he said "we will cuddle under the stars". Upgrade was so happy, she couldn't move. She could just stand there, on the brink of tears. The Jon saw her just standing there, he didn't know what she was thinking. "Is everything ok little birdie" he asked. She ran up and hugged him tightly "This is the best thing someone has ever done for me" she said, burying her face in his shirt "thank you". He kissed the top of her head "You deserve it" he said "I haven't been around much, so I wanted to make it up to you". He pulled up a chair for her to sit, and ate their lovely dinner.

Their meal was wonderful, all of their favorite foods on one little table. They both shared funny stories and jokes, the talking never seemed to stop. But all of a sudden The Jon's eyes started flickering, they never did that before. Upgrade look a little nervous. "What's with his eyes?" she thought "they have never flickered like that before". She tried to look into his eyes to see if something was wrong, but ended up getting lost in them like she always did.

A few hours of eating, talking and laughing later the sun was about to set. "Here" said Upgrade "Let's watch the sunset". "Sounds wonderful" he said "Le-Let's do it". Upgrade was a little confused, she never heard him stutter before, why was he stuttering now? But she ignored it, thinking it was just a one time thing. They opened the blanket and laid it on the ground. Than they laid down and snuggled closely as the sun disappeared for the night. "Isn't this lo-lovely?" he asked. Upgrade a little more suspicious. "Yea it's lovely" she said in a curious tone. The Jon looked down at his little birdie "Is ev-everything ok" he asked. "Yea everything is fine" she said "but are you ok". The Jon looked confused "Wha-what do you mean?" he asked. "Your starting to stutter" she said "and while we were eating your eyes started flickering". The Jon was surprised, he didn't even know he was doing anything wrong. "My sy-systems are probably just tired" he said "I have been wo-working allot lately". "Okay" she said in a nervous voice "are you sure, the parade is tomorrow, the town can't have you break down". He put his hand on her cheek, and was boiling hot. "Don't wo-worry little birdie" he said "I'm fi-fi-fi-".

Suddenly he collapsed to the ground, eyes flickering out of control. Upgrade started panicking, but remembered something. She turned him over to look at his crystal Pepsi levels. But as soon as she was able to see them, she saw that they were over heating. She tried to cool them down but it was no use. "Li-little Bi-birdie" The Jon said moaning "I-it's no use, the-there is no more crystal Pepsi left". Upgrade started crying "why didn't you tell me earlier" she asked. The Jon looked up at her "I-I didn't want to see you cry" he said. He reached out for her hand, and grabbed it in a flash. "Please don't leave" she cried "I'll never love anyone again". "Bu-but I have to" he said "But do-don't forget, I lo-love yo-". He eyes stopped flashing, his gears stopped turning, he was dead.

Upgrade couldn't stop the tears, she blinked constantly to try and regain her vision, but it was no good. "Oh Jon" she said at last "you were the only one who ever really loved me". She kept holding onto his hand, she didn't want to let, even though he let go. She made a decision, and rose to her feet. "I'll be with you soon" she said, letting go of his hand. She walked to the table and grabbed a knife, than she walked back and held his hand again. "I love you too" she said and stabbed her her chest, right where her power source would be. She screamed in the pain, watching the mixture of blue matter and oil gush out, but she knew it was worth it. She died seconds after, still holding his hand.

When the town's people found out they canceled the parade. They could celebrate happiness knowing that their mayor and his loving little birdie have died. Instead they held a funeral service, in honor of the two. Everyone in the town came and followed the coffin, that held both The Jon and Upgrade inside, being supported by The Spine, Rabbit and Hatchworth. Their grave stone read "Here lies The Jon and Upgrade, death could never keep them apart".
